Recalculating

Most of us these days rely on our GPS for traveling. Ever think of getting a life one – you know kind of like a Guided Personal Senario? Wouldn't it be nice if someone gave you a highlighted route for your life…I am talking about our short journeys here, not the ‘final destination!’ (short journeys could involve several traffic patterns or bottlenecks before you are done with morning coffee and out the door!) So, anyway, this GPS would account for all of the detours and time adjustments. The 'voice' would tell you when to turn and which direction to turn. You would get traffic alerts that automatically reroute you when detours arise in your life...it will also confirm your pacing and goals along the way, and then of course will let you know that you have arrived at your destination.
When I am traveling on the highway, I often think - If I can only get ahead of that big truck – it would be easier…but then the traffic pattern changes… two more trucks and someone even slower than me in the left lane. I encounter congestion near an on-ramp and beyond that there is the unexplained break-tapping for miles!!! What about gridlock?!? That is actually not as bad for me, I can exhale in the stillness. What is certain, is that as soon as I get through or around one of these "interferences" there is still no clear sailing! The default mode requires constant recalculating, planning, patience, and acceptance for what is in front of me...whether directly or just around the corner.
I often smile to myself as I relate my highway travels to those of my life journeys. Sometimes, there are no shortcuts or alternate routes – I just have to wait out the traffic congestion and follow the detours. I know that that are times when those big trucks of life will block my view. I know there will be times when I need to step on that gas pedal and safely get into the passing lane, and times when I need to hit the brakes and slow down.
So, just keep the gas tank full, because with each of these journeys that we get through, we experience growth. Once we realize that we are the traffic…we then just need to go with the flow until that little voice tells us that we are ‘arriving at destination ahead!’
Blessings on all of your journeys
...always be the love that you are
